MSIS expands international presence with formation of Ghana subsidiary

Accra, August 9 2010
, RDFC Africa Limited, business development and advisory services providers in the oil and gas industry, today announced their strategic collaboration with Scottish based industrial cleaning and environmental waste management specialist, MS Industrial Services' (MSIS) Group. The duo has formed MSIS West Africa, a partnership to expanded MSIS Group operations in the West African Sub Region with its international presence based in Ghana.

MSIS West Africa will be able to offer the full range of MSIS specialist services and equipment, after the group identified that establishing a hub in the country would enable it to best deliver its services to the region and RDFC Africa Limited will assist in discovering and aligning MSIS services to key operators and subcontractors in the region. RDFC's commitment to quality, safety and results driven business philosophy can position MSIS to become a partner of choice.

This strategic partnership with MS Industrial Services will operate out of Takoradi in the Western Region, to capitalise on the developing oil and gas industry in the region.  With about 110days to first oil production in Ghana, companies are positioning themselves to work in synergy to maximize results with an estimated figure of 800 million barrels of oil, and with proven significant quantities of associated natural gas within the Jubilee field - Ghana is poised to join the elite club of Oil Producing and exporting companies

MSIS was awarded a two-year contract - worth around £1.5million - by international oil and gas service company, TETRA Technologies (TETRA) to provide pit cleaning equipment and personnel to support the company's Ghana operations.

RDFC's Managing Director Kwame Acquah commented: "RDFC's sees this strategic partnership as a step in the right direction. Not only are we going to provide specialist service to the oil and gas industry, we also intended to spawn a team of equally qualified and able Ghanaian professionals to deliver quality service. Our plans for the future is to expand our operations beyond West Africa"

MSIS' Chairman, Chris Lloyd, commented: "We've been determined to establish an MSIS presence in West Africa to enhance our chances of harnessing opportunities in the region. The forming of MSIS West Africa provides us with the base and foundation from which we can capitalise on the major opportunities which are available in the area

"Ghana offers a stable environment with excellent facilities and links to nearby countries such as Nigeria and the Ivory Coast which feature existing oil and gas operations as well as being a good communications facility for the wider African market.  We will be actively looking for local partners with whom we can offer the widest range of onshore and offshore environmental services.

"Another key driver in our decision to establish a base in Ghana is the FPSO market in West Africa, which is of tremendous interest to MSIS as our specialist Transfer Systems are specifically designed to provide the highest quality performance in tank cleaning onboard those installations.
